MEETING MINUTES – JULY 1, 2025
Attendance: Mr. Bernheimer, Ms. Thaman, Mr. Landwehr, Mayor Markgraf, Public Works Director Mr. Greer, City Engineer Mr. Hellman, Verdantas.

The meeting was called to order and minutes of the June 5, 2025 meeting were approved.
City Engineer Martin Hellmann updated the committee concerning the sidewalk assessment project. Precision Concrete Cutting has completed its grinding work and submitted an invoice that has been paid. Mr. Greer is verified the cuts made and noted that 7 spots appear to have been missed. Precision will address these spots when next in the area on other projects. TMS Construction has completed slab replacement with only possible restoration work to be completed. The TMS invoice has been submitted, reviewed and paid, less retainage.
OKI and State approvals were obtained for the Crestview Hills sidewalk project; planning will continue with construction next spring.
No significant updates were available for the Bellemonte resurfacing & curb project. The city will reapply for a grant for the current grant year.
No updates were discussed for the Dixie Highway bench project or crosswalk improvements.
Humphrey Concrete appears to have completed its work under the 2025-26 Street Program on Shaker and is nearly complete with Marlo Way. 2 sump pump outlets were tied into the underdrain and 2 additional drains were replaced into the street. Joints will be crack-sealed as a preventive measure.
The repair of the Williams Avenue drain trench was completed by TMS Construction and paid.
The city will participate with the InfraHub video street & sign assessment project with other cities to
.facilitate the updated 5 Year Road Plan. It includes approximately 8 miles of roadway at a 2-year cost of approximately $785.00.
Mr. Greer updated the committee a No Parking – Fire Lane sign may be needed on Penwood between Shaker and Marlo Way. The speed radar sign is relocated at 52 West Lakeside Avenue near the Penwood Road intersection and a request has been made for its return to Carran Drive. He also noted the need for honeysuckle and bush cutting on the landbridge area of West Lakeside and Gilmore. He will obtain bids for such work at it is too much for one individual.
Mr. Bemheimer addressed that additional no parking signs may be needed on Locust Avenue as continued parking there creates a safety line-of-sight issue. This will be addressed.
The next meeting was determined to be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 5:00 pm.
