Ms. Bruck said the new auditors came in the first week of September and completed their assessment in 3 days. They did note that our processes and procedures are well developed and with our additional safeguards, demonstrates our good stewardship of city funds. She attended an NKGFOA meeting, which is a local finance networking group, last month and the topic of discussion focused on preparing for audits. She also attended the Region V/ Master Clerks Academy. Last, she advised a CDARS investment maturing this week, and after shopping rates and terms, advised the finance committee as well as the mayor to leave the investment with First National Bank (FNB) as the other markets were comparable to FNB.

The mayor noted that the CDARS program is like a CD investment, but it ensures funding larger than the $250,000 FDIC cap.

Mr. Waite inquired about what needs to be updated on the Capitalization Policy, and Ms. Bruck said the threshold limits need to be reviewed and possibly increased.
