PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE

MEETING MINUTES- NOVEMBER 6, 2025

 Attendance:  Ms. Thamann, Mayor Markgraf, Public Works Director Mr. Greer, City Engineer Mr. Hellman, Verdantas. Andrew Walsh, Verdantes. Mr. Landwehr and Mr. Bernheimer were absent.

Audience:  No one present.

The meeting was called to order and minutes of the October 2, 2025 meeting were approved.

City Engineer Martin Hellmann updated the committee concerning the sidewalk assessment project. The restoration work appears to be complete and this item is now completed and paid.

The last preliminary items were completed for the Crestview Hills sidewalk project; the plans have been submitted to the state for approval.

No updates were available for the state grant for the Bellemonte resurfacing & curb project. As sidewalks and curbs are not included, the application was amended to include only resurfacing work.

Humprey Concrete has completed its punch list of items under the 2025-26 Street Program on Shaker and Marlo Way. The final invoice has been reviewed, approved and paid.

There were no updates regarding InfraHub for its video street & sign assessment project to facilitate the updated 5 Year Road Plan. The new 5 year plan will be presented for review after January 1.

Riegler Blacktopping performed crack sealing and coating the City Building lot on Friday, October 3, 2025. Additional work to on the streets were scheduled to begin in during the week of November 10, weather permitting.

Mr. Greer updated the committee that the honeysuckle and bush cutting on the landbridge area of West Lakeside and Gilmore was completed and looks great. Precision will also do its fall cleanup of the city properties on November 17, weather and scheduling permitting.

Mr. Greer has also scheduled street sweeping for December 2- 3.

Mr. Greer updated the committee that Jack’s Glass will install safety glass for the front desk/lobby window in the very near future and will replace the acrylic door panels with bullet resistant glass.

Christmas tree drop-off is scheduled here at the city building between December 26 and January 9. Mr. Greer has also turned off the dog fountain until next spring. He has also been in touch with Kenton County Public Works regarding snow removal and that one of our 2 drivers from last year will be returning. The other did plowing in Crestview Hills last year.

There will be no meeting in December. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 5:00 pm.
